About the attraction

Where Gyeongbokgung sits squared off on flat ground, this one leaves the ridges and hollows as they were and places its halls between them. That siting is what put it on the UNESCO list. The palace halls are yours to wander with a ticket; the rear garden is not. It admits a set number per time slot with a guide, so it must be booked in advance and charged separately. Opening hours shift with the season, running latest in summer.
