About the attraction

When the volcano erupted, the outside of the flow set while the molten core ran on, leaving this hollow tube. It is a UNESCO natural heritage site. About a kilometre is open to walk, ending at a lava column. It stays cool inside even in summer, so bring a layer. Open nine to six with last entry at five, and closed the first Wednesday of each month. The floor is wet and uneven, which makes prams difficult.
