Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest

About the attraction

One man planted ginkgo for over thirty years for his ailing wife, and the result is a wood of some two thousand trees, opened to the public only for the month of October when the leaves turn. It is closed the other eleven. Hours are ten to five, and there is no admission or parking fee. The approach is a long narrow mountain road that jams at weekends. Peak colour shifts a little each year, so check before setting out.
