Gongsanseong Fortress

About the attraction

It served as the royal fortress when Baekje moved its capital to Ungjin. More than two kilometres of wall ring a low hill of some two hundred metres, and walking the top gives you the Geum River and the town of Gongju below. It belongs to the UNESCO Baekje Historic Areas. Most people start from the Geumseoru gate, and there is climbing involved. It closes at six from March to October, five in winter. The walls are lit at night.
