Darangee Village

About the attraction

With no flat ground, the villagers stacked stone to make paddies, and more than a hundred narrow terraces now step down the slope to the water. Fields made this way are called darangee. Walking the village costs nothing; a path between the terraces takes you down and back. In spring rape flowers bloom on the banks, drawing a yellow line along every level. The lanes are narrow and parking is hard, so leave the car at the village entrance.
