Cheonggyecheon

About the attraction

Covered over in the 1970s and topped with an elevated road, it was uncovered in 2005 and the water let back through. It starts near Gwanghwamun, runs past Dongdaemun and carries on a long way; step down to the water and the traffic recedes a notch. It is open twenty-four hours and free. Stairs descend at intervals, so you can join and leave anywhere. In winter a lantern festival floats lights on the water. There is no parking of its own.
