Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

About the attraction

Korean temples are usually in the mountains; this one stands on rock at the edge of the East Sea, where waves break audibly below the main hall. It opens at 4:30am and closes around seven in the evening, with last entry a little earlier. Entry is free, though parking is charged. You descend 108 steps to reach it, so there is climbing involved, and the spots for making wishes always have someone standing at them.
