Beopjusa Temple

About the attraction

Founded in 553, it is one of the seven Korean mountain temples on the UNESCO list. Palsangjeon, standing in the main courtyard, is the only five-storey wooden pagoda left in Korea, assembled by joinery without nails. Entry costs nothing; only parking is charged. It opens at four in the morning in summer, five in winter, and closes at eight at night. It sits in the folds of Songnisan, so the approach is already forest.
